Historic 1912 indoor swimming pool in an art-deco building with marble columns and intricate tilework near the Rijksmuseum. Features shallow children's areas and designated lanes, soft water, and thermal baths alongside sauna cabins and a whirlpool. Attached Brasserie Zuiderbad serves food and drinks.

Botanical Garden · All Ages
A 14,500-square-meter outdoor oasis surrounding the world-famous Rijksmuseum, featuring meticulously landscaped gardens with 7,000 plants, seasonal flower beds, 60+ historical sculptures and fountains. Playful water features and a water maze delight younger visitors, while winding paths, art installations and architectural fragments make it equally engaging for older children and adults. Skatepark · Ages 3+
A brand-new urban skatepark unveiled in May 2025 between three world-class museums. Features a versatile concrete layout with bowls, rails, ramps and street obstacles designed for all skill levels. Architecturally inspired by the Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam School, with 24-hour access and nearby cafes for post-session hangouts. Positioned between a small playground and basketball court, making the area suitable for a wider age range.

Miniature Museum · Ages 3+
Detailed miniature scenes bring Amsterdam's 750-year history to life, from 1275 origins through the Golden Age, squatter riots and Pride. Many models are interactive with buttons triggering lights, sounds and moving scenes. Average visit lasts 1 to 1.5 hours on Museumplein.

Art Museum · Ages 4+
World's largest collection of Vincent van Gogh's works, including Sunflowers, Almond Blossom, and The Bedroom. Museum is thoughtfully curated chronologically to follow Van Gogh's artistic development from his early Dutch period through Paris, Arles, and Saint-Rémy. A family-friendly pancake restaurant serving traditional Dutch pannenkoeken made with flour from De Ruiter mill. Concert Hall · All Ages
World-renowned concert hall praised for acoustics that rival Carnegie Hall and Vienna's Musikverein. Hosts 900+ concerts annually across three performance spaces, with dedicated family programming, such as Children's Concerts for ages 4–12 and Children's Music Days for ages 2–4. Beautiful historic branch library in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid near the Concertgebouw with a vibrant youth section and children's book collection. Features a cozy reading café with snacks and drinks, study spaces, and hosts regular children's story times, workshops, and coding classes for kids. Architectural gem with a vintage brown façade in a monumental building.

Small fenced playground in Vondelpark designed by famous Dutch architect Aldo van Eyck. Features a hexagonal climbing mound, sandbox, and climbing igloo.

Music Lessons · All Ages
Amsterdam's largest music school offering instrumental, vocal, and ensemble lessons for all ages. Programs span from baby and toddler music classes (with caregivers) through specialized academies for pop, jazz and classical music. Group classes, individual lessons, bands, orchestras and talent programs available.

Grand Café with large waterside terrace and adjacent fenced playground in the heart of Vondelpark, open since 1874. Kids can run, climb, swing, and play in the large sandbox while parents relax with coffee, wood-fired pizzas, or beer/cocktails. Menu includes pancakes and tostis for children.


Paddling Pool · Ages 1–6
Shallow paddling pool nestled in Amsterdam's famous Vondelpark, perfect for toddlers to cool off on hot days. Colorful water features and nearby playground keep children engaged. Open May-September when temperature exceeds 20°C, with daily municipal cleaning and plenty of shade from mature trees.

Gymnastics Classes · Ages 2–12
Sports, dance, circus and aerial silks classes in a non-competitive environment. Programs feature innovative activities including juggling, handstands, hula hooping, tumbling, cheerleading, and fitness training. Multilingual coaches teach in English with visual demonstrations; holiday camps and birthday parties available.




Nature Playground · Ages 5+
Opened to the public in March 2026, the Klauterpad is Vondelpark’s big climbing playground — a sprawling structure with sustainable materials woven between the trees near the Willemsparkbrug entrance. Rope bridges, climbing frames and nets, and natural elements take play up into the tree canopy and provide a serious challenge for older kids.

Sprawling outdoor terrace café nestled in Vondelpark's southernmost tip with adjacent large playground featuring sandbox and equipment for multiple ages. Self-service ordering of Dutch classics (bitterballen, pancakes), salads, sandwiches and ice cream; shaded seating with deck chairs and beach-like atmosphere decorated with torches and patio lights at night.

Fenced playground near Vondelpark with large sandpit for younger kids and a slide and climbing tower for older kids. Large, mature trees and benches provide shaded areas for parents to rest.

Theatre · Ages 2+
An intimate, multidisciplinary arts venue combining theatre, music, dance and puppetry created by artists from around the world. Housed in a former horse tram depot turned national monument metres from Vondelpark. Hosts interactively and lively weekly kids programming with Brazilian-inspired shows, music/story sessions, and family carnivals blending culture, dance, and play.

Train Ride · Ages 3+
Step aboard beautifully restored vintage trams from early 20th-century Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, and other European cities for a nostalgic 7-kilometer journey through the Amsterdamse Bos forest and to Amstelveen. The heritage tram runs on a former railway line along green parkland, with multiple stops where families can get off to explore attractions like the Climbing Forest or simply walk in nature. Weekend city tours also available departing from Dam Square, passing iconic Amsterdam landmarks.

Fresh-ground espresso, matcha, chai, and smoothies in the World Fashion Centre. Bright, modern spot with healthy homemade treats—juices and protein options round out the menu. Small play corner, perfect for parents enjoying drinks while kids play with toys.
