De Haar Castle
Netherlands' largest castle, completely restored in the 19th century with neo-Gothic architecture and 200 lavish rooms. Sprawling 55-hectare grounds featuring Versailles-style gardens, rose gardens, deer park, maze, ponds and ancient tree-lined avenues perfect for exploring. The castle interior showcases exquisite art collections, tapestries and period furnishings—though many steep stairs and narrow passages require good mobility.
Open daily 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Book your timed slot online in advance as tickets sell out, particularly on weekends and during summer. Note that strollers/prams are prohibited inside the castle (use lockers for gear), and the interior can be challenging for young children due to steep staircases and restricted handling of fragile objects.
