Barbican Conservatory
Hidden tropical conservatory on the 3rd/4th floor of the Brutalist Barbican complex in London's City, home to over 1,500 species of exotic plants, palms, ferns and tropical blooms. Visitors wander past koi carp ponds, terrapin enclosures and peaceful water features while exploring two main houses: a larger tropical section and an arid plant house upstairs.
Free admission requires advance booking online—tickets released one month in advance and sell out quickly, especially weekends. Large bags, prams and buggies prohibited; use Barbican Centre cloakroom. Nearest tube: Barbican station (Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan lines).
