Netherlands Open Air Museum
A 25-hectare open-air museum in Arnhem with over 100 authentic historic buildings relocated from across the Netherlands, immersing visitors in traditional Dutch life from two centuries past. Live artisans demonstrate traditional crafts like cheese-making and blacksmithing, while period-costumed interpreters inhabit the buildings. Interactive play areas include a children's activity farmyard with hands-on farm chores, playgrounds with Dutch equipment linked to hedge mazes, vintage tram rides, carousel, and opportunities to try traditional crafts.
Open daily 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The museum is very spread out and requires lots of walking—plan for a full day. Book parking beforehand or purchase tokens at ticket counter (€6). More enjoyable in good weather; winter visits possible but mainly outdoors.
