Apenheul
A revolutionary cage-free primate park where over 300 monkeys roam freely among visitors across a beautiful wooded area. More than half the monkeys walk loose, including squirrel monkeys that may jump on your shoulder or swing in branches overhead. Educational keepers lead talks during feeding times—especially the gorilla feeding—while children hunt monkeys with interactive scratch-off maps and playgrounds blend naturally into the forest.
Apenheul is closed November to March; plan visits for the open season. Arrive early to avoid summer crowds and the long entrance walk. Bring €1 coins for free lockers at the entrance. Book online for a discount.
