Aldo van Eyck Playground – Bertelmanplein

Playground Ages 1–12 ☀️ Outdoors

The first of over 700 playgrounds designed by legendary Dutch architect Aldo van Eyck (1947), featuring a minimalist concrete sandpit with lowered entry points for small children, tumbling bars, a climbing arch, stepping stones, and mature trees. The design prioritizes creative free play through abstract forms and open space rather than prescribed activities. Best preserved of van Eyck's original playgrounds, with thoughtful additions respecting his distinctive aesthetic language.
