History
People have been making paper for thousands of years. In China, as early as 200 BC! They made paper from plant fibers such as rice, straw, hemp, and bamboo. Papermaking came to Europe via the Arab world. In the Netherlands, paper was made in paper mills starting in the 15th century. Papermakers wet old rags and let them rot. Then, the rotting fabric was cut and pounded for hours into a pulp. After drying, the paper was ready.

The workshop is free and lasts 60 minutes. Sign up via the official event page.
