Holiday Cyanotype Workshop
Cyanotype is a printing method from the 19th century, discovered by the English scientist John Herschel. In this method, a light-sensitive mixture is applied to paper. Next, leaves, flowers, or other flat objects are placed on top. By exposing this to UV light, a beautiful cyan-blue color appears on the exposed areas. The spots where the leaves lay remain white.
In the DrukLAB, you can try this technique yourself under supervision. We use images from our collection for the silhouettes, but feel free to bring your own flowers, leaves, feathers, buttons, or other flat objects!
