Boat Trip: in Search of the Sundew

On Sunday, July 12, we will look for the round-leaved sundew during a boat trip through the Eilandspolder. This native carnivorous plant used to be common around Haarlem, but has now become quite rare.

During the trip, we sail between the reed-fringed islets, and you can enjoy the many meadow birds currently visible and audible in the polder. We sail to the marshland, right in the heart of the area. Additionally, we visit the quaking bog islets where sphagnum moss, sundew, ferns, and orchids can be found.
