Outdoor Pools & Splash Pads for Kids

27 locations
Ages 0–12

Amsterdam has a surprisingly wide range of outdoor water play for kids. At the smaller end, neighbourhood parks across the city have their own paddling pools (pierenbadje) β€” shallow, free, and perfect for toddlers on a hot day. For more space, several of the city's larger parks have proper outdoor pools that fill up in summer, and the forest pools at Amsterdamse Bos are a classic. Splash pads and fountains round out the options for kids who just want to cool off without committing to a swim. Most outdoor water spots are open from late May through August, weather permitting.
