It is a game with winners and losers. At Archeon, the tournament form known as pas d’armes is performed. In this format, a knight or a group of knights challenges everyone who passes by to a fight. The combat is carried out using lances, and a points system applies. Delivering powerful blows or breaking the opponent’s lance earns points.

In BALBALLOONA, three dancers meet for the first time. At first there is distance and shyness, but then the balloons appear—each with its own color and emotion. What begins as a tentative exploration grows into a playful, visual dance about connection, difference, and change. The colors, the material, and the various shapes and stages of the balloons form the basis for how the dancers move, how their relationships develop, and how the story unfolds without words. Red is struggle, yellow is joy, blue is rest—the dancers respond physically to the emotional tone of the color, and the audience recognizes it immediately. At various moments during the performance, children (and their parents or guardians) are invited to join in on stage.

Whether it’s preschool, your favorite pencil, that one friend, your grandma, or that familiar place where you know everything; sooner or later, we all have to say goodbye. But how do you actually do that? And what if you are the one staying behind? In 'Zeg maar dag', three performers make all kinds of attempts at saying goodbye and staying behind. They wave, disappear, pretend to leave, wave some more, embrace, sing to each other, and practice staying—even when the other does not. The sorrow of missing someone and the joy of finding each other again alternate at lightning speed. For that which sometimes overwhelms you can also sink, only to gently float back up again. And perhaps sorrow is also simply love seeking a way out. With few words and much music, 'Zeg maar dag' lets emotions flow poetically and offers comforting space for big feelings for small people. The creator of this performance, Sara Giampaolo, previously created 'Doe eens lief' and 'PRRRT PRRRT FLAP FLAP' at Maas, among others.
Little Music Explorer is an intimate performative concert where children and families are invited to discover the magic of music. Through body rhythm, wind instruments, voice, and ukulele, the performance unfolds as an interactive journey that nurtures curiosity, connection, and the joy of making music together. About Ada Rave (1974, Comodoro Rivadavia), is an Argentinian saxophonist, improviser and composer. Ada’s instrumental approach is based on research into a wide variety of techniques, conventional and unorthodox, which allow her to create a highly personal narrative in real time composition. In addition to her ability to perform with an incredible degree of abstraction, she also boasts one of the boldest tenor sounds around. As a young child, Ada grew up in rural Patagonia before moving to Buenos Aires where she finished her primary education and began performing as a musician. She was an active part of the local jazz scene but became interested in improvised music and composition quite early, which led her to lead ensembles of her own that performed at venues and festivals all over Argentina. In 2013, she decided to move to Europe to explore the rich field of free improvisation scenes and to learn more about the possibilities of this music. Based in Amsterdam she immediately integrated the improvised music community. Ada has become one of the most in demand saxophonists on the scene. She’s performed throughout Europe solo and with her trio, as well as in various projects including Hearth, the Kaja Draksler Octet and The Ex. Ada is also active as a music educator and beside organing eventual concerts around Amsterdam’s vibrant scene she is the creator of Impro Jam at the mitical De Ruimte (2015 / 2024). In September 2019 she became part of the internationally acclaimed DOEK collective.
'KLAS' is a performance full of spectacular acrobatics, in which four acrobats wrestle their way free from an overly strict school system. In every class, there are bright students, doers, thinkers, dreamers, fidgets, chatterboxes, bundles of energy, perfectionists, and many more diverse types of students. Do you recognize yourself in the student who always knows all the answers? Or perhaps the student who can't wait to play outside again? Or does everything just pass you by because you are in your own little world? It would be wonderful if all these students could move through the classroom at their own pace and in their own way, so that every child can develop to their full potential. Will the four acrobats be able to use their unique talents and break free from the stifling system through collaboration? So that everyone can and may be themselves, and it is actually an advantage to be different from the rest. Because who knows, the next Van Gogh, Taylor Swift, or Einstein might be hidden inside one of them!
In a tall apartment building, full of balconies and residents, live Mr. Hoppe and Mrs. Zilver. From his balcony, Mr. Hoppe secretly looks down, where Mrs. Zilver lives with her little turtle, Rudi. Rudi is small but mighty, although Mrs. Zilver dreams that he will grow bigger. Mr. Hoppe, madly in love with his neighbor, thinks he can lend a hand. With a magic spell, he makes Rudi seemingly grow… or is it just an illusion? Growth! is a performance full of wonder about growing up, developing yourself, and the power of being small. Through puppets, music, humor, and philosophical questions, the audience is taken on a journey through a tender, relatable, and joyful story for young and old. The performance is presented by Theatergroep Nooitgedacht: Ruben Wetzels and Willemijn Hordijk. They combine expressive storytelling theater with live music, handmade puppets, and plenty of interaction. Their playful style invites children to think along, ask questions, and shape the story together. An accessible and inspiring life lesson in which everyone can grow, no matter how big or small you are.
