Amsterdamse Bos with Kids

Most families know Amsterdamse Bos as a place for a walk or a picnic, but there's a lot more to discover amidst the trees and canals. Nature lovers can explore the forest on a guided boat ride or take to the water on a rented boat or SUP. Thrill seekers head straight for Klimpark Fun Forest, a treetop climbing course with ziplines and challenging routes (now with a mini course closer to the ground for younger kids as well!), or cross the canal by hand-operated ferry over to Play Island's nature playground. And there are plenty of opportunities for animal encounters — bottle feed baby goats at the Goat Farm, pet the deer at Meerzicht Farm or visit with the horses at the Amsterdamse Manege. And when everyone's ready to refuel, there's ice cream, pancakes, and more at several cafes around the park. Plenty for a full day, and all within just a short bike ride from the city.

Shallow outdoor paddling pool designed for young children, set within the vast Amsterdamse Bos forest park. The oval pool reaches only knee-deep at its center and sits beside a playground. Seasonal operation May through September with snack kiosk, picnic benches and public facilities on-site.
